About Shaykh Asaad Al-Baydani
Shaykh Asaad Al-Baydani
His Eminence Shaykh Asaad Al-Baydani began his seminary studies in 1992 at Al-Boroujerdi School, then Al-Hindiya School in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, until he completed the introductory stage (muqaddamat) and the intermediate stage (Sutooh). At the time, the seminary, scholars, and professors were subjected to harassment, prison, and executions by the Ba’thi regime.
He studied under a number of distinguished scholars while at the Islamic seminary, such as His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad Ali Al-Halfi, His Eminence Shaykh Nasser Al-Saadi, His Eminence Shaykh Abdul-Jabbar Al-Saadi, and for a short period, with His Eminence Sayyid Muhammad Taher Al-Jazaery.
He practiced his preaching and tabligh secretly and out of sight of the regime at the time, such as secretly setting up Hussaini Majalis and reviving all religious and other Islamic occasions until the regime made life there increasingly difficult, so he went abroad as an immigrant.
Shaykh al-Baydhani arrived in Canada as an immigrant in 1999 and became an active resident scholar for the next ten years with the Iraqi community in Calgary. After returning from a temporary stay for a few months in Iraq, he began another preaching journey with a number of Pakistani believers in the Hussainiya Bab al-Hawaij, teaching in the weekend school since 2013.
